Quilt No. 7 | Amy Swinn
Amy Swinn is a quilter and textile artist from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Amy has a BFA in Fine Art, from Millersville University but she was drawn to quilts specifically because they are something you can hold in your hands. They are human scale, meant to be used, meant for warmth, meant for love. Amy's work has been displayed both locally and nationally.
Amy's inspiration for this quilt came from her daily walks around her city, the grid of sidewalks, caution tape, the way the houses interact with one another, all against the background of the river and the sky. It was a pleasure to sew MADRE’s beautiful linen to create this quilt. A ruler free approach was used to allow for the natural movement of the linen within the blocks.
Quilted by Michelle Berman, bound by Lindsay Oldani in Portland, OR.
Quilt measures: 61.5" x 62.5"
Materials: 100% linen front, back, binding. 100% organic cotton batting.
